On August 2, Karen and I will be riding in the 2015 Pan-Mass Challenge to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston and its Jimmy Fund. Dana-Farber is one of the world’s leading cancer research and treatment facilities. Last year, colleagues, friends, and family helped me raise $5,800 for Dana-Farber, and the entire Pan-Mass Challenge raised $41 million! I am proud to have been a part of that effort, and I am hoping we can raise more this year.
Last year was the first time I rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge. I am not the most athletic person, but the ride was made easier knowing how much support I had. This year, my wife Karen is riding with me. Together, we are Team Silver, and Rightside is sponsoring and supporting Team Silver. You can visit TeamSilver.Rocks to see our fundraising page. We will need help from our friends, family, and colleagues in order to hit our fundraising goals.
When I first signed up for this year’s ride in early February, I wrote about it on Twitter. Rightside’s Matt Overman reached out to me shortly thereafter, and he asked if Rightside could sponsor our ride and help us raise funds. Obviously, Karen and I were excited about this. TeamSilver.Rocks is a fun way to show off this sponsorship, since Rightside operates the .Rocks registry.
Here’s what the company has to say about sponsoring Team Silver to raise money for the Dana Farber Cancer Institute:
“Rightside is supporting Team Silver’s efforts to raise funds for the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute because cancer sucks and any individual or organization that commits to battling this disease just plain rocks. Which is why we thought the contribution of a .ROCKS domain would be particularly appropriate for Team Silver’s participation in the Pan-Mass Challenge bike-a-thon to raise money for cancer research and treatment. Team Silver .ROCKS and bicycling .ROCKS, but as far as Rightside is concerned finding a cure for cancer .ROCKS hardest of all.”
I would be greatly appreciative if you could help me in my effort to raise $6,000 for Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund this year. You can either visit TeamSilver.Rocks or my page on the PMC website to make a donation directly to Dana-Farber and its Jimmy Fund. I am going to work hard to ensure our fundraising goals are met, and it would be awesome if you could help support us… any amount would be sincerely appreciated!
Karen and I will be wearing these great looking TeamSilver.Rocks cycling jerseys while we train for the next two months. I think they look pretty slick! If you could help us support a great organization that helps people fight cancer, I would appreciate it.
Hi ho Silver!
(Sorry…emotions got the best of me.)
Sorry. Any website using a dumb ass gtld will not be the recipient of my support or money.
Go get a .Com and come back when you are serious.
Soon these new TLDs will not be so new and will more widely accepted and respected.
