Domain Holdings Hires John Mauriello

5

A few weeks ago, Domain Gang broke the news of an apparent staff shakeup at Domain Holdings. Theo Develegas reported that four employees were no longer listed on the Domain Holdings website: Alan Dunn, Giuseppe Graziano, Melissa Ucros, and Tracy Fogarty.

I recently learned that John Mauriello has been hired by Domain Holdings in the role of Managing Director. He will be responsible for the brokerage division of Domain Holdings.

John has considerable experience in the domain industry. John held a variety of positions at Snapnames and Moniker over a ten year period, primarily in a domain broker and broker management role. According to John's LinkedIn profile, John helped to sell "over $50MM to start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, and domain name investors." Some of the recent sales he listed on his LinkedIn profile include Hot.com, KK.com, (more…) → Read More

5 With John Ferber… Interview with Advertising.com Co-Founder

17

Secret MillionaireJohn Ferber is most well known for being the co-founder of Advertising.com, with his brother, Scott Ferber. The Ferber brothers later sold Advertising.com to Time for somewhere in the ballpark of $500 million. While with Advertising.com,  John was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young, and he was also named one of IT Recruiter Magazine's "Top Techies to Watch."

More recently, John co-founded a company called Domain Holdings, LLC, a domain name management and monetization company. The company's portfolio of developed websites includes Handyman.com, HomeMortgage.com, Silver.com, and many other descriptive domain names.

John is also a philanthropist, and he founded a website called Microgiving.com, which is a "crowd funding website that lets you raise money online to fund a project" to help a non-profit organization. Based on his well-rounded background, it's not really a surprise that he will be featured in an upcoming episode of ABC's Secret Millionaire on Sunday, March 27th.

John Ferber’s Secret Millionaire Viewing Party

5

As you may already know, Domain Holdings' John Ferber will be featured in an episode of ABC's popular show, Secret Millionaire. The show will air on March 27, 2011 at 8pm eastern time.

In conjunction with the airing, there will be a viewing party held at Atlantique Cafe in Delray Beach, Florida (777 East Altantic Avenue) from 7-10pm. John will be in attendance, and I am sure a number of other people in the domain business will be there to support him as well.

A donation of $20 is being requested, and the money will go directly towards the charities/organizations featured during the episode. You can pre-purchase your ticket on Microgiving.com.

It's going to be a fun evening for sure, and it's something I would attend if I was in Florida. → Read More

John Ferber from Domain Holdings on ABC’s Secret Millionaire

One of ABC's more popular and touching television shows will be back on the air on March 6, 2011. Each week, Secret Millionaire features a millionaire who interacts with others that may be down on their luck, without them knowing about the millionaire's wealth.

John Ferber, co-founder of the company that sold Advertising.com to Time Warner for $500 million, and one of the founders of Domain Holdings, is one of the millionaires featured on Secret Millionaire this season.  Ferber is a familiar face to those who have attended a domain conference, and it's likely that you've seen or met him if you've attended one recently.

According to Ferber, "It was an amazing experience that I will never forget and I feel incredibly fortunate to have been able to help such wonderful and deserving people who work hard to make their community a better place for everyone, the real stars of the show r the folks doing great things in their community, my role was just a bit part compared to them, the show in my opinion was mis-titled."
