Earlier this month when OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot was trending, I discussed some of the ways artificial intelligence (AI) could be used for domain investing. I cited a number of domain investors who shared the output of their ChatGPT queries on Twitter.
One area that wasn’t touched upon was how AI could be used to help people find brand names for their businesses. This morning, Squadhelp announced that it introduced an AI-based business name generation tool powered by GPT-3. The news was shared on Squadhelp’s Twitter page:
Naming a startup doesn’t have to be hard!

Commenting on the launch of the tool, a Squadhelp representative told me “Squadhelp’s team has successfully integrated GPT-3 technology with our vast data on names gathered from analyzing 6 million name ideas over the last several years.”
Visitors to Squadhelp who wish to use the tool simply need to enter in a sentence to describe the brand they are choosing to name with the tool. Users can add certain keywords to help focus their search even more precisely. There is also a tool to help discover potential trademark issues with the suggested brand names – although I would likely seek expert legal advice for that.
