.SI Domain Names Now on Namecheap

.SI domain names have been the ccTLD for Slovenia since 1992. More recently, the SI term has become associated with Superintelligence in the same way AI is a common acronym for Artificial Intelligence. I shared my thoughts on the .AI and .SI discussion yesterday.

This morning, Namecheap and Spaceship Founder Richard Kirkendall announced .SI domain names were available to register and transfer at Spaceship. He also announced the price for registrations and renewals:

To help people discover and uncover domain names with potential in the .SI TLD space, NameBio shared a .CSV file with its publicly recorded .AI domain name sales:

I think the idea is that if a domain name sold in .AI it could have similar interest in .SI. That may be the case, but .AI domain names have been bought en masse speculatively, and I think .SI is an even more speculative extension at the moment.

I suspect most of the most appealing .SI domain names have already been purchased by domain investors and speculators. While I have seen some .SI sale reports, I have not seen a whole lot of usage by end user companies, which is what I think would drive growth. That remains to be seen.

Congratulations to those domain investors who previously bought .SI domain names and have made some deals, and good luck to those who are buying them now.

  1. you have until 11/3 to sell your .si domains
the democrats are going to take the house and senate and they call it AI and the next democrat president in 2028 will call it AI

  2. One of the reasons why tens of thousands of .ai domains didn’t get regged in 2016: the 195 USD reg fee for 2 years minimum.
I probably would have regged over 3000 if the reg fees were only 12 usd.

As I mentioned, we could have ASI/SI (Super Intelligence) in about 2036.
Some companies have branded with AGI. And some have filed trademarks with “AGI” (General Intelligence)
I’ve heard Trump didn’t like the meaning of AI. Artificial Intelligence, citing artificial sounds fake, so someone suggested “Super”. However, universities across the United States began investing in “AI research”, starting with Dartmouth in the early 1950s.

  3. This is one of the reasons why it’s wise to value and prioritize truth seeking and knowing what’s really going on and not just domain names, making money and having a happy life.

By the way, a recent AI search indicates that I’m “prominent,” so you’d be wise to listen to me. 🙂 “Prominent” – cool, who knew.

Yes, sure, some people and companies will doubtless make some money from this. Go right ahead. Just don’t sell your soul and whatever’s there of your integrity. I would reg a few myself if they seemed appealing and to have potential for good use. I already mentioned earlier I did go for one for essentially brand protection but someone beat me to it. Personally, use would be my first priority, but sure, I would also gladly sell one too.

Also, in case anyone is not, though sadly likely among non-truth seekers, be aware that there is currently underway the usual super con job to fool the public into accepting that AI needs to be centrally controlled and so forth. The usual lie schemes are in motion for that, you know, “problem-reaction-solution” and such.

    Don’t fall for it.

Frankly, sad to see what this latest scheme is doing to “AI.” AI will always be AI no matter what it’s called and if anyone can ever manage to pull off a name change to the point of popularity.
