Right of the Dot (ROTD) will be holding the domain name auction at the NamesCon conference next month. The live auction will take place on November 11 at 4pm (eastern) at Ice Palace Studios in Miami. Auction bidders will be able to participate in person at the venue or they can place their bidding online.
The auction pre-bidding is now open at bid.rotd.com, and ROTD is continuing to add domain names to the auction inventory. At the moment, there are more than 300 domain names listed for sale. Some of the highlighted domain names include Borrow.com, Fare.com, Beg.com, HomeService.com, Edinburgh.com, and CapeTown.com. I understand that early bidding activity will help ROTD determine which domain names are selected for the live portion of the auction.
One change this year is that ROTD is using its own auction platform to host the event. The platform was developed to handle bidder all aspects of the auction. Bidders will need to sign up for the platform and sign up separately for the NamesCon auction to bid.
From the looks of it, there seem to be more non-.com domain names in auction than I recall seeing in previous industry live auctions. For example, there are many .ai domain names in this auction. I am a bit surprised there aren’t more .si domain names included given the recent hype, but perhaps more will be added.
You can read more about the upcoming auction in the press release ROTD published this morning. If you have any questions about submitting domain names for sale or about bidding, contact ROTD directly.
