Riding in the 2014 Pan Mass Challenge

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund are two organizations that are very important to me and my family. My wife and I are members of the Friends of Dana-Farber organization, and we happily support DFCI and the good things they do.  If you aren’t familiar with Dana-Farber, here is more information about this great organization:

Since its founding in 1947, Dana-Farber has been committed to providing adults and children with cancer with the best treatment available today while developing tomorrow’s cures through cutting-edge research. Read about our history, our breakthroughs, and the resources that help us support the health of our neighborhoods and communities.

I am going to be riding in the 2014 Pan Mass Challenge bike ride to raise funds for Dana-Farber. The ride I will be participating in will start in Wellesley, Massachusetts, ride to Patriot Place in Foxboro, and return to Wellesley, for a total of 47 miles of bike riding in one day.  I am hoping to raise $5,000, and I would sincerely appreciate your support.

During the summer, I will likely do some things to raise funds for my PMC ride. I haven’t decided yet, but I might auction domain names I own, offer advertising space, sell a couple of hours of domain consulting services, or do something else to raise funds. This might lower the amount of donations that are sent now, but I would hate for someone to donate and then feel badly that they could have gotten something from me in return (aside from gratitude), so I am just letting you know in advance.

A few years ago, my wife and I rode in the 5 Boro Bike Tour to raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House of New York City. With the help of our friends, family, and colleagues, we raised over $10,000 for the Ronald McDonald House in two years of riding. I am hopeful that I can once again count on friends and family for their support. If you are able to help in with any amount of money, it would be appreciated and be meaningful to me.
