Todd Han, Founder and CEO of Dynadot, highlighted a newsworthy story about the CEO of another domain registrar. Ray King, CEO of Porkbun, was written about in China Daily, the largest English-language news portal in China, for returning a once-stolen bronze ritual vessel.
Last month Ray King, CEO of @Porkbun, returned a priceless 2800 year old relic to China. The relic was stolen from a Chinese museum in 1984, and sold overseas. The unsuspecting King family ended up with the relic decades ago.

According to the article, “the bronze ritual vessel, named “Feng Xingshu Gui”, was crafted sometime between 877-771 BC in the Western Zhou Dynasty.” The vessel was stolen in 1984, and Ray’s grandfather acquired it from an antique dealer without knowing it had been stolen.
Once Ray learned the history of the vessel, he decided to return it unconditionally:
For King, the return wasn’t a grand gesture, but a simple act of righting a wrong. “I don’t think it’s really ours to donate,” he told China Daily. “I feel great that it’s going to where it belongs. Maybe one day it‘d be nice to visit the museum (where the relic is housed in China).”
It’s always nice to see an article about someone in the domain name space doing something honorable. Thanks to Todd Han for sharing this.
What a coincidence
The year of the dragon.
Never understood why someone keeps something that only one enjoys to themselves
I guess it is the ego thing
