(Photos) Nearly 30 Attend Domain Sponsor Meetup in Brooklyn

Regretfully, I could not attend the Domain Sponsor / Rook Media domain investor meetup held in Brooklyn earlier this week. I heard the meetup had nearly 30 attendees from the greater New York City area and beyond.

The meetup started at a bar called Wolf and Deer, and Rook Media / Domain Sponsor rented a suite at the Barclay’s Center in Brooklyn where attendees watched the Brooklyn Nets take on the Phoenix Suns. Kevin Diaz, the Director of Sales and Marketing at the company, shared some photos with me, which I have posted below. I see some friendly faces from various conferences and my time in New York City.

I think meetups like these are a great way to get to know other local domain investors. I think it can also be a great way for companies to show their support of domain investors and introduce products and services as well as customer support staff.

If your company is going to hold a local meetup for domain investors and you want some (free) publicity for it, please let me know.

Here are some photos from the meetup:

  1. This looks like a lot of fun. Godaddy is planning a meetup at our flagship office in mid February. We will have food and drinks and a tour of the new building, you can take a trip down the slide or ride the go carts and try the climbing wall. Of course there will also be great networking and information on the domain space. Keep your eyes out for our announcement and if you are in the Phoenix area February 18th please make some time to come by.

  2. It was a great time. I met some good people and the Barclays Center is beautiful. I want to thank Kevin Diaz and others at Rook Media for putting it together. And thank you to Elliot for letting me and others know about it.
