Nokta Domains Relaunches Website

Nokta DomainsI received an email from Nokta Domains‘ Kubra Koseler, and she wanted to let me know the company recently relaunched its website. I think the redesign is worth mentioning because of the company’s end user reach and potential for that to impact our business.

One thing you will notice right away is a group photo of the Nokta employees. It seems a number of companies in the domain space are doing this, including Domain Holdings and Name.com to name two. Another thing you’ll notice is that the website is entirely in English, despite the company’s Turkish roots (they do have a Turkish language version).

Along with the aesthetic changes to its website, the company made some changes to its leasing section,  During the last year, Nokta has reported a number of domain name lease deals, and it seems to be a revenue driver for the company.  Here’s how Kubra identified the changes to that section of the website:

All of our domains are available for lease now with fixed monthly lease fees. Also, we have a online lease agreement, which is certainly more user friendly than the previous agreement, which was required to fill in manually.”

Perhaps they will find that adding lease costs to listings helps drive an increase in lease deals,  and you might want to take note. At the very least, you might want to monitor the company’s blog, where it reports lease deals, and you’ll be able to see if this has boosted the velocity of its leasing.

Nokta made its affiliate program more visible, with a link in the top menu. There are a number of blogs and websites that share daily auction lists that have embedded affiliate links in them, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see some blogs promoting Nokta domain names. Additionally, Nokta also offers third party listings in partnership with other large marketplaces, and affiliates can earn 1% of the sales price on those, too, presumably if the sale is made via the Nokta platform. I do not have an affiliate relationship with the company, so I can’t offer feedback about it.

The company enhanced its search algorithm to help show more relevant domain names when users search the website. The company also developed and elaborated its category system. Finally, they added search options to show the last visited domain name, a watchlist option, and similar and suggested domain name sections.

Nokta owns tens of thousands of domain names. As a result, the company’s website likely sees considerable traffic, and that could impact all of us.

  1. Smart relaunch. Most of the domain companies seem overly businesslike. People like dealing with people and when they see the faces of the company its hard not to look at them as friends and as trustworthy in what they are trying to sell you. Name.com has done well with this approach and I definitely see in the future most internet companies going this route. When you have a brick and mortar store you see the faces behind the brand but unfortunately the internet doesn’t allow you this important aspect. Being much more personable helps people part with their money much easier.
Elliot maybe you should put a larger picture of yourself on your site. DomainInvesting.com isn’t the brand you are the brand.

  2. 1) Good, NICE work, you are on the right way.

    2) ” Additionally, Nokta also offers third party listings in partnership with other large marketplaces,..”

So no one can apply? Here you are on the WRONG way.

    3) WatchSeries.com, monthly lease fee is 8500$!

Attention, Rick Schwartz’s prices here (sorry Rick, you made remedies to JV’s too much high prices, for the present period, lunching HallofShame)

  3. Next step stop spamming domainers with 6-7 figure names, invest in the end user experience, don’t expect a spammy email to net you 7 figure sales Notka

  4. We too did a relaunch to our site within last couple of weeks.

Focus to leasing or partnerships but do not include listed pricing as the industry niche we play in, contains many regulations and compliance issues.

The 2 page reading portion of our site is worth the read. Health insurance domain names dot com

Best wishes to Nokta, site looks great! Extended wishes to you and your blog for keeping the domain world abreast of change.
