Name.com Video Discusses Leveraging Synergy With Acquirer

The big news around the domain industry this morning is Demand Media’s acquisition of Denver-based domain registrar Name.com. In response to the acquisition, the folks at Name.com posted the humorous video above.

I want to wish the team at Name.com all the best with this acquisition. Not only has the company been supportive of my blog for a few years now, but they’ve also supported other domain industry blogs and tradeshows.

Bill Mushkin has put together a great team of individuals who really seem to care about company customers, and Name.com is one of the few companies in the space that seems to have a fun  personality. Here’s hoping that doesn’t change with the new owners.

Congratulations to all involved in this deal.

  1. I thought DMD was a public company, terms will come out sooner or later, would be interesting to see what they sold for.

This is what will continue to happen, as others try to chip away at godaddy’s marketshare.

I would assume dynadot, or namecheap are next.
