My Interview on Domain Sherpa

Contrary to what some may think after reading my blog, I don’t really enjoy being in the spotlight. I like being able to help others, and since I became serious about domain investing relatively late, I think I can provide some helpful insight that might be beneficial.

I met Mike Cyger at DomainFest and enjoyed our conversation. I’ve been following what he has been doing on Domain Sherpa, and I think the information he is sharing is especially helpful to people who are looking to learn about the domain industry and know how to successfully invest in domain names.

Mike asked me to do a video interview with him and I agreed. The interview is now posted on DomainSherpa.com. I think he and I covered quite a bit of ground, and I hope I was able to answer some of your questions. I appreciate Mike’s interest in interviewing me, and I hope it’s helpful to you.

Unfortunately, Lucy will not be able to answer any follow up questions.

  1. Elliot,
Just tried listening to that interview. However a million people most be trying to the same at the same time cause it kept breaking up. Honestly I hate online video interviews. Is there a transcript to this interview? It is preferable to most people as you can read it when you want how you want and at your own pace. I left the broadcast in frustration.

  2. Watched the whole thing — and I never watch videos online! Congrats to you and Michael for providing such an in-depth domaining resource. I’ve never seen anything as good as this.

  3. Most have stormed out too quickly. I went back to see if the traffic has slowed down to take a second shot at the interview and behold there was the transcript right below the article. Missed it the first time.
    Patience, patience patience!

  4. Great interview, Elliot! And thanks to Michael Cyger for what he’s doing for the community.

The first time you see on video someone whom you know just through written text or pictures is always a strange feeling 🙂

  5. Elliot,
In the interview, you mentioned contacting those that buy ads on sites with a similar one that you own. If this is to sell the domain name, isnt that a bit of a stretch to think the ad buyer wants to start and develop a website?
