John and I Are Ready to Ride

The Pan-Mass Challenge ride to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is coming up this weekend in a “reimagined” format. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, there isn’t a group ride this year. Instead, John and I will be riding separately, with the most important aspect having been accomplished already.

With the support of the domain industry, John and I have helped raise just shy of $14,000 for Dana-Farber. John and I will be proudly wearing our domain industry sponsored PMC jerseys as we ride this coming weekend. We have each been wearing our jerseys throughout the Summer as we condition ourselves for the big ride.

John will be setting off on Friday morning for a two-day self-supported cyclocamping ride. I will be skipping the camping aspect and will do two 80-mile rides on Saturday and Sunday. It will be nice to ride a bit with my kids who have done the Kids PMC before, and I will be able to sleep in my own bed. Both of us will tweet photos along the way.

John and I have not met our fundraising goals this year (John’s page and Elliot’s page), but we will continue to raise critical funds for Dana-Farber to continue its cancer-fighting mission. Dana-Farber is one of the best cancer-fighting and cancer-research organizations in the world, and we appreciate all of your support so far.

While talking about fundraising, I want to raise awareness for something totally unrelated to our Pan-Mass Challenge. Ron Wells, a longtime member of the domain investment community, is currently fighting for his life after being diagnosed with Covid-19. I would encourage people to have a look at the GoFundMe page set up to assist Ron and his family. I had the privilege of meeting Ron at a few domain industry events over the years, and I wish him a swift and full recovery.
