James reported that his hold time for this domain name was a short six months. I reached out to James to ask about the deal, and he let me know it was paid in full.
KOKO.com is currently registered at Namecheap under Whois privacy. The domain name does not resolve at the moment, so it is unclear who acquired the domain name.
This is the second time this domain name sold for a substantial amount. NameBio has a sale record from 2014 when it sold for $100,440 via eName.
Once the sale is recorded by DNJournal, it will become the third largest publicly reported domain name sale of 2024 (to date) behind the Gold.com sale and the TP.com sale.
If you want to follow his strategy, here’s the breakdown: the property was listed for $1,995,000 but sold for $1,000,000. Estimated fees are around 10%-15%, and the acquisition cost was likely between $150,000 and $250,000.
