I recently noticed that GoDaddy Auctions began incorporating artificial intelligence-generated images and descriptions to its auction listings. This AI-generated content appears in the Details section below the fold, so visitors would need to scroll below the bid field to view this section for each auction. This field appears above comparable sales and other data related to the domain name in auction.
Here’s an example of the AI generated image and description for Trickster.com, a domain name that is currently in auction at GoDaddy:
I’ve been looking at these for a bit, and I think the descriptions do a pretty good job of finding a good – and positive – use case for domain names. Even some questionable domain names can get a bright side description that could help encourage bidders to place a bid on the auction.
This AI-generated content appears to be working for GoDaddy. I understand this was initially rolled out as a test to a US-based audience, and the company recently rolled it out internationally. I presume descriptions are posted in the language of choice for users who have other languages selected.
Trickster.
They should keep it for themself. You won’t find a better match.
