Ten days ago, Elliots.com sold for $2,759 via GoDaddy Auctions. I was a bidder on the auction, but I maxed out just below $1k. I appreciate that many people reached out to make sure I was aware of the auction.
This morning, I received an email from someone who wants to buy the domain name:
“Hello fellow Elliot!
I noticed that you’re the owner of elliots.com, which is redirecting to your PMC profile. I’m starting a small…”
This was surprising to me since I lost the auction. I took a quick look at Elliots.com, and sure enough, the domain name is forwarding to my Pan-Mass Challenge fundraiser. Thank you to the person who did that.
Because of the default Whois privacy at GoDaddy, I am not sure who bought the domain name. I am happy to forward the email to the current registrant when I find out who won the auction.
“I’m starting a small…” doesn’t sound promising though 🙂
Agreed!
Yes:
“I’m starting a small….”
“I’d be grateful if you could sell me your domain for ___ This will be a university project…”
“Your domain would be ideal for a little family “site” I plan to launch.”
Uh, er, expect the offer to be so small you’ll need a microscope to read the number(s)
A large healthcare conglomerate in 2010 tried to acquire one of my med domains with the second lame pitch via a gmail account. LOL(They ended up using a broker and acquired the name for a bit more than their initial 3 figure offer)
Lol the owner of elliots.com making fun of you xD
He know your Pan-Mass Challenge fundraiser.
I am sure he/she also reading this post too
