Domain Boardroom Offering Limited Advertising Opportunities

Domain Boardroom, the popular private domain forum with a membership of about 250 active domain investors,    has been advertising-free since its inception. That is changing, and the forum is now offering limited advertising opportunities in  conjunction  with DBR’s Fun Fest.

I asked Donna Mahony to provide details about the advertising opportunities that are available, and Donna provided the following information:

Once a year the members of DBR get together for several days of friendship and fun in Dana Point CA. Of course with so many high level domainers in one place, business does accidentally happen! Part of the unique nature of DBR is that I’ve never allowed advertising. This helps keep a high signal to noise ratio, and the members appreciate the quality of information and non-commercial camaraderie.

In order to keep our FunFest free for the active members, I’m accepting some limited advertising on the inside and outside of DBR. I’ve never done this before, but decided to in order to keep improving our annual FunFest and keep it as low cost as possible for members.

Our top level sponsorship is the Platinum for just $2500. This year there is a huge benefit to being one of our 3 Platinum Sponsors! The 3 Platinum sponsors will get Advertising space INSIDE of DBR! They will be one of three banners that rotate in the space to the right of our logo. Each Platinum sponsor will be the sole sponsor for one of our 3 evening meals. One is a luau (!!where I am going to be doing a special secret surprise!!). One is a Japanese restaurant and one is a steak house. (That is our wrap up dinner)

Top level sponsors can send/bring advertising material and hang a banner in our meeting rooms. They will be on DBR’s front page and at the top of every page INSIDE of DBR, This is unprecedented as has never allowed advertising. There are some restrictions which will be explained if someone is interested in this package.) and FB page for a year and on all of our marketing next year.

We only have 2 Platinum sponsorships left.

We also have several Gold sponsorships available for $2000. One of those is for stocking our meeting room with drinks, alcohol and soft drinks, and light fare such as sandwich platters and munchies of all types. Plus a taco truck of our own parked by the pool for one day! This area was a big hit last year. One room opens to the pool and and there is always a group just hanging out having fun! The other room is quieter and can be used for meetings etc.

Gold sponsorships will also be used for recreation. We are planning golf, jet skiing, and kayaking and maybe even deep sea fishing.

Let’s not forget our famous poker tournament!! Who will unseat Bob Olea for bragging rights this year!

Gold sponsors get the same advertising opportunities as the Platinum minus the banner advertising inside of DBR and hanging wall banners at the event.
Silver Sponsorships For $1000 you may help with partial/joint sponsorships – our hotel meeting suite setup, dinner bar tabs, golf, fishing, jet ski/kayak

Bronze – any amount below $1000 – ‘Social Sponsor’ – misc recreation, prizes, awards, taco truck, poker night, misc expenses

All cash and product donations are welcome, and will give the sponsor future priority, as well as the first choice for advertising or sponsorships at future DBR events.

Lower level sponsorships will also get a logo on our front page (log in page) as space allows. Priority given by sponsorship amounts. All are welcome to send in a small amount of advertising materials which will be available in our meeting rooms.

Last year we had an attendance of about 50 and expect more this year. This is your chance to get your name out there to high caliber domain investors. This event is private and by invitation only!

Lower level sponsorships will also get a logo on our front page (log in page) as space allows. Priority given by sponsorship amounts.

Help keep this fun filled UNconference free and get some valuable exposure for your company at the same time. No matter how hard we tried to make it “just fun” business kept happening.

  1. Donna, sounds like a great advertising opportunity to me. Unfortunately, my budget won’t allow this time around. But I’ll keep it in mind for next year.

BTW, how does one join Domain Boardroom? I visited the site. Is it one of those things, where if I have to ask how to join, then I can’t? 😉

Donna, best wishes for getting first-time sponsors for your annual conference.

  2. Thanks Steve, there is a link to register. There is an approval process and a referral from a current member helps. I also limit the number of members so there may be a wait time. Thanks for asking and thanks for your support!
