The .Club Registry was in the news recently when it was announced that GoDaddy had a deal to acquire the .Club extension. Introduced in 2014, .Club has been one of the most successful new gTLD extensions, and it currently boasts more than 1.1 million domain registrations, according to nTLDstats.com.
To celebrate its 7th birthday, the .Club Registry shared the video below with highlights from the last seven years:
Of late, .Club domain names gained additional traction as the voice chat Clubhouse app saw a surge in users. People began buying .Club domain names to create a more marketable and easier to navigate entrance to their Clubhouse chat rooms. In addition, sensing this could be something of a turning point for .Club domain names, there were many .Club registrations made as investments.
To that end, the .Club Registry is hosting a Clubhouse room to celebrate its birthday. The event will be held tonight (May 7th) at 6pm Eastern, and it is open to anyone who has the Clubhouse app. I believe the Clubhouse app is only available for iPhone users at the moment.
