ClownPenis.Fart May Come to Fruition

Years ago when I told my physician what I do for a living, he referenced an old skit on Saturday Night Live. In the 1999 SNL skit, there was a parody of an investment firm called Dillon Edwards. The company waited so long to get online that every decent domain name was taken, leaving it with only ClownPenis.Fart to use for its website.

There is no .Fart domain name extension right now, so ClownPenis.Fart does not resolve to anything. Well, that might change.

DNJournal and Domain Name Wire both published articles about a new entity called Link Freedom Group (LFG). The company, formed by domain industry veterans, reportedly applied for hundreds of new TLD extensions in the latest ICANN gTLD round, which ended yesterday.

I took a look at the list of applications for which LFG applied, and a couple caught my eye – .Fart and .ItIsWhatItIs. After I mentioned those on X, Chris Scovell reminded me about the ClownPenis.Fart skit. I can’t believe I didn’t think of that immediately upon seeing the application, but I am glad Chris noticed and shared.

I would imagine LFG is going to tag ClownPenis.Fart as a reserved premium domain name, and I can’t even imagine how much it’s going to cost to be able to use ClownPenis.Fart.
