I saw a .ai auction on Namecheap Market, but by the time I saw it, the bidding had already climbed beyond what I was willing to spend to buy it. The auction for Team.ai closed yesterday with a high bid of $136,500. This auction was noted today on X by NameBio.
There were nearly 100 bids from 14 bidders in this auction. When hovering over the winning bidder’s username, it said the user joined in March of 2025 but has not won an auction yet. The runner up was a Gold level bidder who has won 4 auctions worth more than $15k. Three bidders placed six figure bids in the auction. I am unsure if the auction transacted yet.
Team.ai is a great domain name for an AI-related brand. In fact, it was previously a brand founded in 2019, and its LinkedIn page indicates the business was acquired. I am unsure what happened to the domain name following the acquisition.
Should this auction close and the sale transact, it looks like it will be the 4th largest .AI domain name sale on Namecheap, according to NameBio. It will finish below Blockchain.ai ($405,000), Turbo.ai ($165,000), and Golf.ai ($140,000). It will finish ahead of the $130,000 sale of Win.ai.
To be clear, this auction may not have been paid for yet, so it’s not necessarily a done deal at the time of publication.
