Uniregistry Looking to Hire Domain Broker

Uniregistry is looking to hire a domain broker. The company posted a job opportunity on LinkedIn and is seeking to hire an Inside Sales Representative on its Domain Brokerage team. This domain broker job will be based out of the company’s Grand Cayman office, and a relocation package is offered to all new employees.

As one would expect with a domain name brokerage job opening, the candidate needs to be great at sales. Here’s more about the opportunity directly from the job listing:

Uniregistry Now Owns DomainNames.com

Two weeks ago, Frank Schilling was the winner of the NamesCon auction for DomainNames.com after Network Solutions decided to list the domain name for sale in auction. The DomainNames.com domain name sold for $370,000, and the majority of readers thought this was a good buy. The sale of DomainNames.com was one of the largest sales in the 2019 NamesCon live auction.

DomainNames.com has been owned by Network Solutions, and the company put this domain name up for sale in the NamesCon auction earlier this week. One of the highlights of the live was the sale of DomainNames.com for $370,000. The winning bidder in the auction was Uniregistry founder Frank Schilling.

Jordi Gasull, founder of NameAgency.com, shared a video of the auction. With his permission, I am sharing the auction video with you:

Uniregistry to Remove TopCoin from its Platform

Uniregistry sent out an email to customers informing them that the company will be removing TopCoin from its platform on January 1, 2019. The company had been giving out TopCoin as a reward for registering and renewing domain names. In its email, Uniregistry advised customers they could still redeem TopCoin with Uniregistry through March 31. I reviewed the TopCoin website but do not see where or how TopCoin can be used.

Last December, TopCoin shared some news about a token issuance, but I am not sure what the status with that is.

Here’s the email announcement from Uniregistry:

Make Sure Your Parked Pages Aren’t Classified as “Adult”

I bought MomSavers.com at GoDaddy Auctions a couple of weeks ago. I think it could be a neat brand name for a mom-focused money saving website. It wasn’t a super expensive acquisition, but it’s the type of inventory I like to add to my portfolio on the cheap.

In doing a bit of maintenance on my Afternic listings and Embrace.com BIN pages, I double checked to make sure I added MomSavers.com to my Uniregistry account and that the parked page was loading. When I visited, I was surprised to see the dark adult-themed landing page. I quickly changed the keyword to an appropriate related parked term, so it now resolves correctly.

The minimal revenue this name will likely earn wouldn’t be impacted in a meaningful way with the adult landing page. My concern was that someone might think twice about buying a domain name they think was used for adult-related advertising. Additionally, even if they understood this was just a parked page and not an adult website, they could have second guessed themselves about whether other people could think Mom Savers was an adult brand.

Why It’s Wise to Check Stats Regularly

I don’t make a ton of money from PPC. It’s in the three figures a month so it doesn’t move the needle but it pays for a handful of renewals. I probably check my earnings a few times a week just to see where things stand. Sometimes I see a nice little bump and other times it’s status quo.

Yesterday I noticed a big jump in traffic across one of my portfolios. I didn’t think much of it because these blips tend to happen every once in a while. Perhaps a company sent a newsletter with my url instead of theirs, or maybe an old news story that links to one of my parked domain names because of its prior usage got some social media traction. More often than not, this is a brief occurrence.

When I checked a parking account today, I noticed that traffic doubled across the board from yesterday. Today’s traffic figures (meaning the numbers from yesterday) are approximately 4x what I typically see on a daily basis. I am not talking about massive traffic but it is a substantial difference.

Even with the jump in traffic, the revenue
