Small Change to Sedo Parked Pages: BIN Price Added

0

I want to share a bit of news from Sedo today. The company made a small update to  parked pages that are listed for sale with buy it now prices in Sedo’s marketplace.

As you can see from the screenshot below, the price of the domain name is listed with the “for sale” messaging. Parked domain names that do not have BIN prices on them will continue to display the for sale messaging without pricing guidance.

Sedo Updates Price List

This afternoon, in an email sent to customers and registered users, Sedo announced that there has been an update to the company’s price list. I think that domain investors who buy or sell domain names using Sedo should be aware of the changes. The new pricing list goes into effect on April 9, 2015, and the company advised that customers updated their prices accordingly.

You should have a look at Sedo’s price list page for full details, but here are a few of the services and fees that I chose to highlight:

BL.com in Escrow at Sedo

It looks like Sedo may have sold another high value domain name. According to the current Whois record, the registrant of the BL.com domain name is now Sedo GmbH, and Sedo’s escrow service email address is the Whois email registrant.

BL.com had been listed for sale at Sedo in the past. The domain name was in the Great Domains auction in July of 2014, but I don’t believe it sold in the auction. The Whois record has changed a few times during the past two years, so I am unsure of who the seller is.

I looked at Sedo’s recent sales RSS feed, and I don’t see BL.com listed as sold. I presume this was a private sale either transacted directly on the platform or with the assistance of a broker. There are quite a few companies that use BL as their initials, but two letter domain names have become prized investments as well.

I reached out to Sedo domain broker Dave Evanson to inquire about the sale, and if he is able to offer any more information about the sale of BL.com, I will update this article.

HSE.com is Largest Great Domains Sale

Sedo’s monthly Great Domains auction concluded today, and I have published the results of the sale below. The auction netted close to $150,000 USD in sales, with 13 domain names selling today.

The largest sale in today’s auction was the three letter HSE.com domain name, which sold for $34,000 USD. UWK.com, PUU.com, UUL.com, and UEU.com all sold for 20,000 EUR, which is about $21,725 USD at today’s exchange rate. VKZ.com sold for just under $10,000 USD. The two four figure .info domain names that sold seem to have done pretty well at auction.

For your convenience, I shared the full list of domain names that sold during the March Great Domains auction.

Videos.de Sells for 50k EUR at Great Domains Auction

Sedo’s monthly Great Domains auction concluded today, and the largest sale was Videos.de, which sold for 50,000 EUR ($55,975 USD at today’s currency conversion rate). MNB.com was the second highest sale at 22,500 EUR ($25,192 USD at today’s currency conversion rate).

Although many of the domain names received 4 and 5 figure bids, only 9 of the domain names were sold at auction today. There were quite a few three letter .com domain names up for sale, and most did not hit their reserve prices. The auction grossed over $100,000 worth of sales.

Listed below are the domain names that sold with their sale prices. Keep in mind that since the auction closed today, payments for these domain names likely have not yet been remitted.

App.nl: A Picture Perfect Domain Sale

Sometimes the owner of something can be completely unaware of how much its value will rise over time and that it could become an object of desire for others. This is a common situation with works of artwork and real estate. But the same thing also happens with Internet addresses – it’s just that many people aren’t as familiar with this.

Sixteen years ago, when Bert Pots, a resident of the Netherlands, registered the Internet address app.nl for his company, he COULDN’T have possibly known that the term “app” would take on a whole other dimension and gain a new sense of value in the years to come. Registering the app.nl address cost him about € 9 per month at the time. Fast forward to 2014, when Pots sold it for € 18,500 via the domain marketplace Sedo.

It all started in 1998. Bert Pots had just founded his company
