EZ.com Sold via Sedo

3

EZ.com has been sold, and the domain name was brokered by Sedo for an undisclosed price. The deal has been confirmed this morning, although details about the sale are going to remain private. As such, we will not see the domain name reported in the weekly DNJournal sales report.

When I noticed a change on the sale listing page within Sedo’s website yesterday, I reached out to Dave Evanson, who had been brokering the EZ.com domain  name. At that time, Dave would only confirm that there was a “sale pending” for EZ.com. I asked if he could share any details about the price, and he said he could  not comment.

As of this morning, the Whois registrant information has changed, and the domain name is now registered to Domain Capital, a domain name financing company. I reached out to Vince Harasymiak,

Sedo Updates Search Functionality & Will Host a .Club Numeric Auction

Sedo just announced that it updated its search criteria to allow users to search for numeric domain names on its platform. This should make it easier for domain name buyers to find numeric domain names for sale at Sedo. The new search feature can be found in the advanced search filter options in Sedo’s search engine.

Yesterday, I reported .Club founder Colin Campbell’s tweet announcing that “[a]s of today, all 4 number names are now registered with a few still premium”. In addition to the search functionality update, Sedo also announced that it will be holding a numeric domain name auction for .Club domain names from November 12- 19. I am not sure if the domain names being auctioned are owned by the registry, and I do not have details about whether auction submissions are being accepted. Be in touch with Sedo if you have any questions.

The link to the numeric auction is here.

Here is the news release I received with more information:

What is XXWW.com Worth?

Aside from owning SSSN.com and PRRR.com, I no longer own many domain names that seem to be in great demand to Chinese domain name buyers. I suppose I don’t fully understand the rationale for these purchases and am concerned that if I jump into that market right now I will end up losing money.

I read Shane Cultra’s list of domain names coming up for auction, and he highlighted one that was intriguing to me. In this morning’s post, Shane said, “XXWW.com OK this is the best name on the board. Maybe not in the future but right now.” I clicked through, and I see XXWW.com is up for auction on Sedo right now. The current high bid is $10,000 and the reserve has been met.

To be totally honest, I

October Great Domains Auction Results

Well, it looks like the 71% majority of voters who thought EZ.com would sell in Sedo’s  Great Domains auction were incorrect. I was pretty surprised that so many votes were cast thinking that EZ.com would sell in the auction. In the end, the high bid for EZ.com was $430,000. I presume Dave Evanson from Sedo will be working the phones and email trying to get a post-auction deal done.

In total, the auction grossed somewhere around $150,000 in total sales. The results are mixed with USD and EUR, so I am not sure the exact amount of closed sales. The largest sale of this month’s auction was DCR.com which sold for $42,000. ICT.com was the next highest sale at 38,000 EUR. ArtDirector.com sold for $9,999.

As I mention every month after the Great Domains auction sales report, the auctions ended today and most of these deals are likely not yet closed. Sedo will publicly report the sales as payments are made, so keep that in mind when you have a look at these auction results.

Here are this month’s

Will EZ.com Sell at Great Domains Auction?

15

EZ.com was listed for sale in this month’s Great Domains auction put on by Sedo. The reserve price range for EZ.com is $500,000 – $999,999, and the current high bid for the domain name is $430,000 (reserve not yet met).

The domain name is being  brokered by Dave Evanson, and it had been listed for sale with a $1,000,000 asking price. If EZ.com sells, it will be the largest sale in a Great Domains auction in quite some time. You may recall that Dave Evanson brokered the $1.2 million sale of MM.com in June of 2014. The auction for

September’s GreatDomains Auction Results

Sedo’s Great Domains monthly auction concluded yesterday. I wrote about the $25,000 sale of Hips.com in the afternoon, but that domain name was not the largest sale in the auction. That honor went to PDZ.com, which sold for 37,010 EUR (approximately $41,283).

Following these two sales, j.de was sold for 22000 EUR, which is a bit less than $25,000 at today’s exchange rate. The auction totaled a bit less than $125,000. Perhaps interestingly, more than half of the winning auctions were for .de domain names (German ccTLD), and more than half of the auctions were in Euros instead of US dollars.

The entire list of auction sales is below. Keep in mind that
