2019 Pan-Mass Challenge Supporters

logoLater this Summer, I will be riding in the 2019 Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) in Boston. DFCI is one of the leading cancer organizations in the world – both in terms of cancer treatment and cancer research, and my family proudly supports it. Since the ride started, the PMC has raised over $660 Million for Dana-Farber!

This will be my sixth year riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge. With the help of supporters and friends like you, we raised over $50,000 for Dana-Farber and its Jimmy Fund in the first five years of riding in the PMC. My fundraising goal for 2019 is $12,500.

Beautiful Gift from a Reader

A couple of weeks ago, I went to my business PO Box expecting to see a few letters, a magazine or two, and an assortment of domain name renewal notices and other junk mail. When I saw the yellow slip in the box indicating a package awaited my attention behind the mail counter, my heart skipped a beat in excitement.

Wishing You a Merry Christmas

As the year is winding down, I want to wish those of you who celebrate a Merry Christmas. Hopefully you are spending time with family and friends and are able to stay away from work today (especially when you are bidding against me in an auction that closes today!) Kidding aside, I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas.

I hope you have been able to achieve your domain investing goals this year. There are a few days remaining in the year, so perhaps there are still deals to be struck.

Doing a Bit of Maintenance This Morning

Good morning! You may have noticed some CSS issues on the website last night and today. I am working with my developer to try and speed up the load time for the website and to optimize the viewing experience (for you and for me).

In the course of doing this maintenance and upgrades, the CSS is a little bit buggy looking and will be until this maintenance is complete. Thank you for visiting and thanks to the people who emailed me about it!

Now Using Jetpack Comments

When I relaunched DomainInvesting.com on a new WordPress theme, I began using the Jetpack plugin for commenting. This plugin is operated by Automattic, the company that owns WordPress. I use several Jetpack features, but the one that is most noticeable to readers is the comment section.

Jetpack allows readers to easily comment, just as they had before. There is once again a subscribe to comments feature, allowing people to receive email notifications when other comments are made on a blog post. This is helpful in keeping a conversation going, especially if people comment over a longer period of time.

I appreciate it when people

Today is the Day!

Today is the big day! I am riding in the Pan-Mass Challenge to raise money for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Dana-Farber is one of the top cancer research and treatment organizations in the world. The doctors, nurses, researchers, and staff are on the cutting edge of cancer research and provide the best care cancer patients can find anywhere. I do the PMC each year because I know friends and family who have battled cancer. Some have thankfully survived, but others have succumbed to this horrible disease.

As I write this on the eve of the ride, our 2018 fundraising total stands at $12,836! I am greatly appreciative of my domain industry supporters, who are listed here (I will add any subsequent donors once I complete my ride).

My initial fundraising goal for 2018 was $12,000. I later realized that if we raise $12,943 this year, the fundraising total for the past 5 years would hit the $50,000 mark… WOW! Once we hit the $12k mark I decided to raise the bar and try to get to $50k. Perhaps we can still make that happen.

I am expecting scattered thunderstorms for much of the day Saturday. Sunday looks clear right now. The entire weekend will be hot (in the 80s) and humid. The support you guys have given me via email, social media, and even the phone has been awesome and appreciated. I will be thinking about friends and family who have fought cancer and those I don’t know who are fighting.

As I cross the finish line on Sunday, I will be wearing my customized PMC jersey with pride. Thank you all for your support.
