The Internet Commerce Association (ICA) held its awards presentation last night during its annual meeting in Las Vegas. The domain industry at-large nominated people from within the industry for the Lonnie Borck Memorial Award and nominated companies for the new Trailblazer Award. ICA membership then voted on the winners, which were announced last night.
Richard Lau was the recipient of the 2025 Lonnie Borck Memorial Award. Richard has been in the domain investment space for many years. In addition to founding, co-founding, and funding numerous companies in this industry, Richard may be best known for creating the largest annual industry event – NamesCon.
Lonnie Borck was an important member of the domain investing community – and a personal friend to many. Lonnie’s memory lives on today, and this is award is a great tribute to someone who passed away too soon. Richard is well-deserving of this honor.
The ICA also introduced a new award this year called the Trailblazer Award. This award was created to honor industry companies that have advanced the industry via innovative products or services. The inaugural award was presented to Darpan Munjal from Atom.com. Atom is one of the leading innovators in the domain name space. The brand naming and domain name sales platform helps companies brand themselves with a domain name taking center stage.
Atom continues to develop new service offerings, and Darpan regularly shares actionable data to benefit customers and domain investors. With its continual flow of feature rollouts and advancement of helpful AI tools, Atom is a trailblazing company that deserves the honor of this recognition.
