I was watching a highlight video on ESPN tonight, and I saw a new gTLD domain name in a commercial that caught my attention. Snickers is running a commercial that prominently displays the TwinPicks.Football url throughout the commercial. When you visit the Twin Picks website, you can see the sisters sitting on the couch, and it looks like just about all the links open a banner imploring you to click a link to buy Snickers bars.
I embedded the commercial for your viewing pleasure:
The .Football extensions is operated by Donuts. According to nTLDStats.com, there are 4,450 registered .Football domain names in existence. .Football domain names aren’t too expensive, with a domain name registrar like Name.com charging $9.99/year (renewals are more expensive).
I thought it was a neat usage of a .Football domain name from Snickers.
PS: If you don’t close out the Twin Picks website, it will say “shut up” every 30 seconds or so!
Merry Christmas!
The other day I was listening to 1010wins when I heard the last part of a .pro domain. I didn’t hear the name completely but the end caught my attention really quick when I heard .pro
Tonight I saw credit.cars and lalaland.movie on tv ads
