Tucows Looking to Hire Compliance Officer

I came across a job posting on LinkedIn that might be of interest to someone in the domain space. Tucows is looking to hire a Compliance Officer for its domain name business. This is a mission critical role at the Toronto-based company. This job is billed as a remote position, meaning the new hire will not need to work out of the company’s office.

Here’s a summary of the position, extracted from the job listing:

“The Tucows Domains Compliance Officer reports to the Director of Compliance and helps ensure that all Tucows Domains businesses and their respective resellers network remain compliant with ICANN policies, registry contracts, and various international requirements. They help to make the Internet better by managing and responding to end-customer concerns where the reseller has not met their contractual requirements and working with resellers directly to help them maintain a stable, secure, and resilient namespace. The Compliance Officer works with inquiries concerning Tucows’ Whois privacy products as well as with lawyers and law enforcement to help stop the malefactors. They will interact with all departments internally at Tucows, primarily with the Sales and Support teams. They will also communicate with various external organizations (e.g. ICANN, registries, other registrars, law enforcement agencies, lawyers, and internal and external network abuse teams).”

The company would like to hire someone with one to two years of experience at a domain industry company, and the best candidate would also have customer support experience. Perhaps someone who is currently on the customer service or sales staff at another domain industry company would have an interest in moving to the compliance side of the business.

If this job opportunity is appealing to you, an application can be submitted directly from the Tucows website.
