Bruce Marler posted his top ten list of top five lists, and I think that’s a cool idea. Although a few of my lists are different than Bruce’s, check out mine and check out Bruce’s lists. I would be interested to learn more about your favorites, too.

Didn’t know you were a Cafe L’Europe fan. Been there many times (one night my party emptied their wine cellar of Gigondas). You have me curious to try Atlantic Grill in NYC.
@ David
We’re going to Cafe L’Europe in December… they have fantastic seafood risotto. Atlantic Grill isn’t as special of a place, but we’ve had some great memories there. They’re owned by BR Guest restaurants, which also owns another favorite – Dos Caminos. Lots of great restaurants here in the city for you to try 🙂
A notable one missing was the Boston Bruins. Unfortunately, there are probably more former B’s fans than current ones. And being in Chicago, with the excitement of the Blackhawks in the last couple of years, I have been a big fan. At least they’re an Original 6 team…
mp/m
I grew up watching the B’s and enjoy playoff hockey. It’s hard to like them when I don’t know anything about any of the players and don’t feel any kind of connection.
I do have Lowell Devils season tickets this year though 🙂
How did you end up picking Hotel Lav (Le Meridian) on second place, i agree it is indeed an excellent hotel, but i think it hardly qualifies for top 5 Areas in the world? (:
@Morten
It’s my personal top 5. I loved being there… great food, fun casino, beautiful room overlooking the Mediterranean, nice pools, beautiful women, tennis courts… etc. I didn’t really care for Split, but I didn’t need to leave the resort.
mmmm, FrenchRiviera,com – Boy would I love that one !
I take it you sold that one to Rick L ?
top 5 restaurant would have to include white castle (a sack of 10 w/ rings) – desperate housewives in the top 5??? what’s #6 – judge judy?
@ Michael
I stay away from that junk. Steamed hamburgers don’t sound appetizing to me. I should have probably included O’Malleys in Allentown, PA because of their wings, but that’s more of a top 5 bar rather than restaurant.
I only watch Judge Judy when I’m working out in the middle of the day.
“”..desperate housewives in the top 5??? what’s #6 – judge judy?””
I’m sure it was a toss-up!
“”1) Abita Purple Haze””
I remember Purple Haze! I don’t think it was a beer back then though..
I love this idea! Not only does it educate your readers, it also gives us insight into who you are. I made a similar post over at my website.
Ok Elliot, then i get it, the hotel lav is extremly nice, I just hope they can keep it going?
Elliot,
Great list. It is fun to read other peoples lists. I can see me doing this in the future again.
I love your domain extension list:) Good stuff buddy!
Bruce
just wait until your mom reads this, lol.. you put her in 3rd place-ouch, lol… how is your wife in the kitchen?
interesting list elliot and good idea you did this-thanks bruce in kicking it off in full gear…
@ Jeff
My mom reads my blog – my wife doesn’t 🙂
well thats good, at least your not in the dog house every day, not listing your wife, lol…
@Michael Carter
Actually, MC, Judge Judy would be in my Top 5. Ever see a daily lesson in finding the pattern for strategic conversation that tricks people into revealing their lies? JJ is an expert. I learned a lot about people watching her show.
@El -Silver, As for beers, you can’t rate beers until you’ve had the top five Oregon micro brews, which are rated tops in the country. We have more quality microbrewers here than anywhere else!
If you get out to PDX anytime (and you should), Ron Sheridan, Jonathan Stanfill, David Rosenbaum, Chris Campbell (.mobi) and Scott Fish (The PacNorwest Domainers) will take you out on a whirlwind tour of a few great bars in the Pearl District, and you can do a beer testing run. You WILL find a micro brewed beer that will foam right up to your #1 favorite! I’m betting Ninkasi.
I’ll get the limo.
Elliot,
I think your wife hacked your blog post and put down “greys anatomy” and “desperate housewives” on your favorite tv shows list. 🙂
