Nordic Domain Days 2020 Postponed

I just received an email from the organizer of Nordic Domain Days 2020 announcing that this year’s event is postponed “until further notice.” NDD 2020 was originally scheduled to be held in Stockholm, Sweden September 7-8, 2020. This would have been the fifth anniversary of the domain industry event. The event was postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

Despite the fact that the NDD event isn’t scheduled for several months, I think it is the right call. We don’t really know when widespread quarantines and social distancing requests/requirements will be lifted, and it would be impractical to expect people to book travel plans for September at this point in time.

Here is the email I received from event organizers this morning:

NDD 2020 postponed due to COVID-19!
Today, the team working with Nordic Domain Days made the hard decision to postpone NDD 2020, previously announced to be held on September 7th and 8th, until further notice due to the COVID-19 situation.

While we hope and believe that things will be closer to normal when September is upon us, we have also had to realize that arranging an event with participants from all over the world as well as securing partners, speakers, and moderators in these times, is just not possible.

Now, this does not mean that we stop working. We will continue talking to partners, speakers, and others that have an interest in our event to make sure that once the time is right, the road to Stockholm is as short as possible!

As a hint, we can share that the thus-far secret venue for the next Nordic Domain Days will stay the same even if the date changes, and it’s an excellent place for a conference.

It’s Sweden’s third-largest hotel, and it’s grand banquette seats more than three times what our localities for NDD 2019 did. We think you will enjoy it!

With that, the Nordic Domain Days team would like to wish everyone good health and safe passage through these difficult times.

Best regards,
Lars-Göran “LG” Forsberg
