NameMedia to Launch Hybrid Enthusiast Community

Namemedia continues to expand its reach into the enthusiast communities by announcing the impending launch of a new site focused on hybrid cars. According to a blogger wanted posting I read, will include topics such as “Hybrid Car reviews, How to get the best mileage, Latest Hybrid car news, Latest battery technologies, Hybrid car tax incentives, Hybrid availability in your area.” The company said they expect to launch the site sometime this week.
From my perspective, this is a great move by Namemedia. By adding unique content (cheaply) and by giving enthusiasts information they are searching to find, this will drive traffic to their site. They can offer Adsense advertisements (already on the bottom) as they grow, and once they have a loyal user base, they can sell advertising space directly to companies that want to target this audience. It’s relatively cost-effective to do so, especially with the amount of talent at Namemedia.
I’ve looked through Namemedia’s portfolio of names (available on, and there are a ton of quality domain names that would be great for niche communities. In fact, is a domain name I purchased from BuyDomains just over two months ago. My plan is to build a forum on the site in the coming weeks, which will contribute to the site’s growth.
With parking revenues down and a souring economy, now is the time to spend money internally to improve your company’s internal infrastructure. It can be difficult justifying risky outside expenditures at the moment, but you can’t go wrong improving your own assets.
