Liner Acquires Liner.com

Liner is a AI-driven search engine for students and researchers. The company operates on the off-brand GetLiner.com domain name. Last week on X, the company announced a $29 million Series B funding round:

This morning, Ariyas noted the post about the funding round and wondered if Ammar Kubba had sold the brand matching Liner.com domain name. As of today, Liner.com forwards to a Notion website featuring the Liner logo.

I reached out to Ammar this afternoon to ask if he sold the domain name. Ammar confirmed that he did, in fact, sell Liner. Unfortunately, Ammar was unable to share the sale price. He let me know the deal was negotiated directly between him and the buyer.

Using DomainTools, I was able to see a now outdated price for the domain name. Prior to the sale, Liner.com was listed for sale for $490,000 USD via GoDaddy.

Congratulations to Ammar on the sale. Liner has been added to the list of companies that upgraded its domain name.
