In early February, I noticed that Kicks.com changed hands. The valuable one word .com domain name had been owned by Reflex, and transferred to a registrant called Domain Licenses Limited, which I believe is an entity that acquires and/or holds domain names on behalf of other companies.
I detected this Whois change with the help of the DomainTools Registrant Monitor.
Looks like https://t.co/d4ITR8l1j0 changed hands.
The domain name was previously registered at Namecheap and owned by Reflex. It is now registered at Com Laude and owned by Domain Licenses Limited.
The domain name does not yet resolve.

On Saturday morning, I detected another Whois change for this domain name, also with the help of DomainTools. Kicks.com is now owned by one of the largest sporting goods retailers – Dick’s Sporting Goods.
When I visited Kicks.com, I was redirected to the Footwear Shop page within the Dicks.com website.
I am curious to know if Dick’s acquired Kicks.com to create a new footwear / sneaker brand called Kicks or if it simply wanted to capture the natural traffic for this domain name. The company could also use Kicks.com for marketing purposes and continue to redirect visitors to its sneaker shop.
However Dick’s opts to use Kicks.com for the longterm, it’s a great domain name.
Kicks… does it pass the radio test??
Sounds like kids on the radio.
Typoo.. i bet the advo data shows people were thinking they were hearing kicks not dicks. The name dicks says it all.. crazy name for an athletic shop verses a porn shop so I bet its a typo with potential sneaker brand down the road….
first thing i did was check the uspto thinking adidas or nike may have a tm.
but no – albeit several others have registered tms.
no i guess there wont be a secondary meaning conflict ?
