Jonathan Tenenbaum is New COO of Media Options

Media Options, the domain brokerage founded by Andrew Rosener, announced that it hired Jonathan Tenenbaum as its Chief Operating Officer. Jonathan had been working as Chief Privacy Officer at Web.com since October of last year. Jonathan is probably most well known in the domain investment space from his time as General Manager of NameJet, which is owned and operated by Web.com.

The press release I received is below, but the part that caught my attention was from Jonathan’s quote:

“With several new and exciting partnerships on the horizon and the most successful brokerage team in the industry already in place, MediaOptions is well-positioned to accelerate into the future, and I’m looking forward to taking the company to the next level.”

I am interested to see what partnerships are on the horizon. I can think of several opportunities for partnering within the domain industry and beyond, so it will be interesting to see what is forthcoming.

Andrew and his team have done a great job of building his brokerage business. I regularly come across domain names that appear to have changed hands, and after a quick bit of research, I find that the domain names were likely brokered by Media Options. I think hiring an experienced executive like Jonathan as COO shows how serious the company is about its growth plan.

“MediaOptions is proud to have grown its business significantly over the past 11 years through organic growth, hard work and good old-fashioned bootstrapping”, said Andrew Rosener, founder and CEO of MediaOptions. “Perfecting and focusing on what works for us has allowed us to steadily refine our processes, overcome industry challenges, and evolve our services to the point where have become recognized as the global leader in domain name brokerage. With a bedrock foundation beneath us, we will now look to more aggressively grow our business with the best people in the right positions to serve our growing client base and the evolving landscape of digital assets. Jonathan understands domain names and the domain aftermarket in a way that few can hope to, and he has a proven track record of maximizing the potential of businesses in this space,” said Rosener. “He’s joining an already successful team at the perfect time to spearhead our planned expansion.”

“What I find most compelling about MediaOptions is its undisputed excellence in the domain space, and Andrew Rosener is a visionary in an industry that is ripe for innovation”, said Tenenbaum. “With several new and exciting partnerships on the horizon and the most successful brokerage team in the industry already in place, MediaOptions is well-positioned to accelerate into the future, and I’m looking forward to taking the company to the next level.”
