GoDaddy’s Paul Nicks Retires

Paul Nicks is a longtime GoDaddy employee of 18+ years, has announced his retirement from the company. Paul previously served as President of the company’s Domains division and most recently oversaw the group that worked directly with domain investors. In his roles, Paul oversaw the domain name aftermarket at GoDaddy along with numerous lines of business that impact domain investors.

Paul shared the news on LinkedIn this morning:

I have always felt that Paul worked hard to support domain investor clients of GoDaddy as best as he could. Paul is someone I could reach out to with an unresolved issue, and I could count on him either solving it or putting me in touch with the person who could get me an answer.

In addition to his role at GoDaddy, Paul also served on the board at the Internet Commerce Association (ICA) as GoDaddy’s representative.

I wish Paul all the best in his retirement.

I reached out to a representative from GoDaddy for comment, and I will share an update when I receive it.

A representative from GoDaddy commented to me about Paul’s retirement:

“After 18 years, we thank Paul Nicks for being a true champion for the domain investor community. Paul’s vision, innovation, and dedication played a foundational role in growing the aftermarket from its early days into the global ecosystem it is today. We wish Paul all the best in his retirement.”

  1. Was he the decision maker who suggested a penalty for not using afternic nameserver?
He seem like someone who took knowledge from the domain.community to benefit his company.

He may have helped you in one way or the other but he keeps silent when a serious question is asked and he is tagged. Godaddy employees only looks out for their boss .
