I don’t closely follow the non .com domain name aftermarket. I am pretty sure that one character domain names in some non .com extensions have value, but I couldn’t guess how much. I am sure that single character .TV domain names have value though.
When I was looking at NameJet this morning, I noticed that the single letter i.TV domain name was listed in their list of pending delete auctions. There is a day and a half to go to backorder the domain name at NameJet, and people could also backorder it at DropCatch.com and/or other auction venues. Once the backorder period ends, the domain name will go to auction.
Estibot pegs the value of i.TV at $3,500. NameBio shows 7 publicly reported single character .TV sales. There were two single letter .TV sales – d.tv for $18,000 in 2010 and e.TV for $17,500 in 2008.
What do you think i.TV is worth?
To many crazies overpaying for domains out there, sky is the limit, many the times on certain platforms they don’t even make timely payment, or are just playing with the bids.
Last time a one letter .tv dropped, Pheenix picked it up and kept it for the owner. That was v.tv. This one is even better.
i think it has renewal of $XXX
Not sure if there is a premium renewal cost.
Doubt it. For several years the registry (Verisign) has been charging a one-time premium fee for the best .tv domains, with renewals at the standard rate. Only every-year-premiums which were registered prior to March 2010, if I remember the date correctly, still renew at the premium rate, and for at least some of those the amount has been lowered. I’m surprised i.tv is dropping without Verisign withholding it and listing it with a premium fee, must be a mistake on their part.
Stick to your .ventures.
Good intrinsic value 22/27k
weird, i’m getting an error at dropcatch
What do you mean?
I don’t normally care about .TV, but this is a really great domain, top notch indeed. A diamond among the rest.
The UK television company might want it ITV.com
2-letter .TV regularly sell for 4 figures – even less desirable ones.
I highly respect what you have built at DomainInvesting.com. I am not sure why you would not follow significant sales of non.com’s though? The majority of your readers believe it’s worth more than your highest choice.
I recently watched and ad on TV, actually aired several times, during a football game for Israel.travel
Thanks for your work.
Who caught i.tv?
at least higher $$$$$
