The Internet Commerce Association (ICA) is hosting a member-only event that I think will be of interest to domain investors, myself included. Georges Nahitchevansky, an Intellectual Property Attorney at the Kilpatrick Townsend law firm. Notably, Mr. Nahitchevansky is also a UDRP panelist who has served on several notable UDRP cases, including the recent Picture.com decision.

The virtual ICA member event will be held on June 9, 2021 from 12:30 pm ET to 2:00 pm ET via Zoom. The format of this event will be a discussion with ICA General Counsel Zak Muscovitch, who has represented many clients in the defense of their domain names.

Domain name leasing is a popular type of domain name transaction. A domain name lease can be a great source of ongoing revenue for a domain investor, but a fair amount of thought and discussion is necessary before finalizing the deal. When one party is using a domain name owned by another party, it is essential to have a solid legal agreement in place to protect both parties.

The Internet Commerce Association will be hosting a virtual panel on Wednesday, May 12, to discuss domain name leasing. Attorney Zak Muscovitch, attorney Jason Schaeffer, attorney Stevan Lieberman, and domain investor Nat Cohen will participate on the panel. There will also be a question and answer period for participants to ask panelists domain name lease-related questions.

Yesterday afternoon, the Internet Commerce Association (ICA) made a presentation during the monthly NARALO (North American Regional At-Large Organization) meeting to discuss the domain name secondary market. The presentation, Understanding the Domain Name Secondary Market and the Role of Domain Name Investors, was made to educate meeting attendees about the business of domain name investing and the important role domain investors play in the secondary market for domain names.

NARALO (North American Regional At-Large Organization) is a group within ICANN that is made up of individuals and organizations interested in Internet governance. The group holds monthly meetings to discuss various issues and topics related to ICANN and general Internet governance.

During the upcoming December NARALO meeting, Internet Commerce Association leadership will be making a presentation discussing the domain name aftermarket and its merits. ICA General Counsel Zak Muscovitch and Board Member Nat Cohen will host the talk entitled, “The Secondary Market in Domain Names.“

Earlier this afternoon, the Internet Commerce Association announced a new benefit for members of its trade organization. ICA members will receive a 15% discount on legal work performed by five participating domain industry attorneys. In addition to this discount, new ICA members also receive a $200 subsidy on the first $1,000 of legal work performed by one of these five attorneys.

The five attorneys who are currently participating in this special offer are as follows:
