Are You Going to THE Domain Conference?

One  week from today, I will be flying to Ft. Lauderdale for THE Domain Conference. Although the event officially starts on Saturday, I have a weekend commitment at home and will be attending Monday through Wednesday. I am curious if you are attending the event, and I invite you to let me/us know in the comment section.

If you are still on the fence, I think you will find it to be a good event for networking. The conference will be smaller than NamesCon, and this allows me to spend more time individually with friends and business colleagues without feeling rushed. The spacious venue allows for private chats as well as some semi-private discussions.

I feel like Barbara, Howard, and Ray Neu go out of their way to make conference attendees feel like they are attending a family event, and I appreciate that aspect of this conference. I am looking forward to attending.

I  had a brief email exchange with Howard last night, and he said there are a few tidbits about the conference that have not yet been shared:

The Neustar Networking Lounge will have continuous refreshments, located immediately under the lobby lounge.

Start Up Saturday has its own agenda – please refer to the dropdown on SCHEDULE on our web site. Speakers include Bret Napoli, Morgan Linton (who is flying in just for SUS and then has to fly out), Colin Campbell, Jeff Sass, Victor Pitts and George Verdugo.

ICA is celebrating its 10th Anniversary as co-sponsor (along with DomainSponsor) of our Welcome Party. It was formed exactly 10 years ago at T.R.A.F.F.I.C. at the Diplomat.

IGLOO is continuing its Suite party even though Gregg McNair will not be able to attend.
We have booked tours to the Florida Everglades, Sawgrass Mill Outlet Mall (largest in the U.S.) and Hard Rock Casino for those who can stay over a few days.

The most exciting speakers to address a Domain Conference including Stacey King from AMAZON, Jennifer Gore from ICANN, Gerald Levine, author of the “bible” on UDRP, Dante DeAngelis on BITCOINS and other digital assets, and of course, our Keynote Speakers Tobias Flaitz and Lori Anne Wardi.

Also, we are inducting Garry Chernoff and Nat Cohen into the Domain Industry Hall of Fame and presenting our annual awards.

  1. HI Elliot,

101domain will be there. We’re a sponsor and will have a booth staffed by our Business Dev. Managers, Kimberly Darwin and Tim Safransky. I won’t be there for the entire event but will be there on Tuesday all day.

I love Howard and Barbara; two of the sweetest people in the domain name industry, and agree with you about their hospitality. Can’t wait to see everyone and catch up!

  2. I will be there for the entire schedule. http://www.domainsherpa.com/john-colascione-longisland/ I am very much looking forward to meeting some of my domain colleagues, many of whom I have only talked with via email and phone. – There is a long list of names, long list, of those I am excited to meet. I’m looking forward to exploring, sharing, networking and discussing the GEO domain business as well as a new en-devour in the gTLD space, specifically for the automotive niche. Very much looking forward to the trip this weekend.

  3. I’d love to be going, but have a day job commitment in Puerto Rico that is going to keep me away. The event is certainly worth every nickel and I’d encourage any domainers out there who have never been, to give it a try. The access to the folks who have been successful in this business is abundant and the pearls of wisdom you can walk away with are by far worth the price of admission. I know going there for the first time set me on the right path and on my way to carve out a nice secondary income, and I do thank Barbara, Howard and Rick for that! You too Elliot! Have safe travels everyone!

  4. There will be a few of us from GoDaddy/Afternic there all week. Looking forward to seeing a few of you again and meeting some new people as well!
