Despite the fact that the last week of the year is typically a very slow week for domain sales, Afternic scored nearly $400,000 in domain sales, which only includes their public sales that were $2,000 and higher.
Leading the way was the sale of WEHR.com for $73,700. The former owner of Wehr.com was Mdnh, Inc., which is a subsidiary of the publicly traded Marchex. The current page at WEHR.com announces that the World Energy Holdings and Research website will be coming soon.

True, but with a huge company like Marchex, the red tape I would imagine that’s gone through to sell a domain name would require any sales to be significant.

Yes, December is typically slow but I was surprised to have two sales today – one via SEDO & buyer has already paid & the other via Godaddy Premium Listings. Unfortunately I don’t sell much via Afternic.
Nyack.com was bought cheap. We are located in New York and drive through Nyack a lot. Nyack is the home of the Palisades Mall, Rosie O’Donnell and many exclusive hudson river homes and restaurants. Nice buy!!
Definitely some head scratchers on there.
Honestly, kind of unimpressive seeing how big their inventory is.
Also, the sales prices are low. I just don’t sell most domains at these low prices.
