On November 12th at noon Eastern time, the .US Registry will be hosting its 2020 Town Hall meeting. .US ccTLD domain registrants and others are invited to participate in this virtually-held annual meeting. Featured speakers in this meeting include Dustin Phillips, Chair .US Stakeholder Council, Crystal Peterson, Director, Registry Services, and Kristin Johnson, Council Secretariat, Registry Services Global Marketing and Brand. .US stakeholders who attend the meeting are invited “to provide input and feedback on .US Policies and other initiatives.”
Here’s what attendees should expect from this Town Hall meeting:
“A rundown of the current state of the domain industry and .US specifically. Plus policy considerations for domain growth and community outreach to establish top civic priorities for future direction.”
One major change this year is that GoDaddy acquired Neustar Registry earlier this year, and I would imagine there will be some discussion about the acquisition and what it means for the Registry and .US domain names – if anything. The acquisition was the basis for the formation of GoDaddy Registry.
In order to participate in the Town Hall meeting, advance registration is required on the Town Hall website. The sign-up form is light on information requested, so it should be pretty quick to fill out. The event will be held in a few hours from the time of publication, so hopefully the meeting location link will be shared immediately after registration.
