10 Recent Domain Name Acquisitions

I spend quite a bit of my time trying to buy good domain names. As I do every so often, I thought I would share a list of 10 domain names I recently acquired. These majority of these domain names were acquired privately, and the rest were acquired at NameJet or DropCatch.com.

Although this is not all of the domain names acquired recently, it probably offers a good glimpse of the types of domain names I buy. My focus tends to be on good, meaningful one and two word .com domain names. I have not bought any non-.com domain names in at least several months and probably longer than that.

    I think that was a private purchase, I guess you got it from Susquehanna Bankshares, which was acquired by BB&T in 2015. 🙂
    They still own the .net, which was their main website before being taken over.
    Domestic.com is very nice as well, it was previously owned by Admirals Bank, which until 2010, when it was purchased by Federal One Holdings LLC, was called Domestic Bank.
    Affiliation.com, another nice private purchase, let me guess … you got it from Ziff Davis.

  17. SponsoredByPassion(dot)com – I have been using this term for years in sports. Recently, we debuted the term at a Nike focus group. It was met with overwhelming enthusiasm by both Nike and the focus group.

  18. Okay, well on second thought, it seems it may be a bit too valuable to give away like that now. 🙂 It came in multiple synonymous forms. I see someone regged one of the variants near the end of July already, one has been taken for years, and one of the two most valuable variants is still available.

    • I really was going to do it, but I did a little research earlier and determined the domain might be less value-less than I thought so that I might want to reg it myself before long. Especially after seeing someone picked up one of the forms near August. Sorry. 🙂

  23. I use your posts as an indicator if it’s a buyer’s market and it appears so. Looks like I’ll be keeping a closer eye on namejet and dropcatch.

  38. Let me say, nice mix of diversified names. I like the fact you have keyword and brandables in there. Good job! I have sold names with a similar mix: http://dotbrandable.com/sold-domains/.

    I should mention that parking revenue for some names is huge. I have a lot of structured settlement, lawsuit loan, annuity funds etc. that generate hundreds in revenue for each name. StructuredSettlementForCash.info has made $300 + in the past 6-months in parking revenue. Most of us are .com purest but a .info name ranks as well as a .com in Google results.

    Also, many names that have expired are just sitting there for the taking. I picked up certifiedprofit.com this morning as a hand reg. Any certified financial planner is a potential customer. There literally thousands of potential clients for this name. My advice is to also focus on what makes money however you making aka parking $$$$$.
