I came across a video for a Congressional candidate in my area, and the domain name he is using caught my attention. Jason Poulos is running for Congress in Massachusetts’ Congressional District 4. His website can be found at Poulos.House.
When I think of the .House domain name extension, the first thing I think of are brands that have House within them – like Waffle House. A Google search of .House shows many websites that have brands that span the dot. Total House, Milestone House, and Shed House are three examples of the businesses that appear in Google when I searched. I also think .House could work for real estate, but I think people tend to use Home or Homes more than House for that.
Off the top of my head, I don’t recall seeing any .House domain names used in the wild. The .House extension, which is operated by Identity Digital, was launched more than ten years ago.
I know nothing else of this Congressional candidate, but his domain name grabbed my attention. It’s a neat way to use a .House domain name.
