Sedo’s GreatDomains monthly auction concluded today, and there were over $150,000 in sold domain names. The single letter j.de domain name had the best result, selling for 49000 EUR. Once this sale closes, it will rank as the fifth largest publicly reported ccTLD domain name sale of the year in DNJournal. The second highest sale was ANI.com, which sold for $49,000. OWI.com sold for 24999 EUR, rounding out the top three.
I was one of the bidders in the Debauchery.com auction, although I was not the high bidder. I think the buyer of Este.com got a pretty good deal at $9,999. The list of this month’s sale results is below. Keep in mind that these domain name auctions just closed today, so these deals are not yet completed. Sedo will report the sales to NameBio and DNJournal once the transactions close.

I was the 2nd highest bidder for debauchery.com. $4,600 is a good price for it though. I just have a budget to adhere to.

I made a $5,000 offer for a domain on Sedo which was accepted on Tuesday and paid for that morning. Today, Sedo says the seller is backing out of the sale. This is why I could not bid higher for Debauchery.com. So much for legally binding agreements on Sedo…

Come to think of it, the sequence of events is conspicuous. The morning the seller accepted my offer, Sedo’s Negar Hajikhani emailed me and asked me if I would do $10,000 and if I could increase my offer a little more. This was after the $5,000 offer was accepted. Three days later, Negar Hajikhani emailed me that the seller made a mistake and wasn’t going through with it.
Perhaps email Sedo’s executive team to see what happened here.
Something a bit strange regarding the auction for ani.com. The reserve was $50-99K, but at the very last minute it was lowered.
I actually think the winning bidder bid $49K before the reserve was lowered. and thus it would not have sold. So if this bidder thought it was risk free to bid just below reserve, it wasn’t…
