Larry Fischer Seeking Beta Testers for SiteChat

I want to share a request that Larry Fischer posted on Facebook for his new website, SiteChat.com, which is currently undergoing beta testing. Larry is looking for people who are interested in trying out the SiteChat service, which allows people to chat on a website, even if it does not have chat capabilities.

Here’s what Larry had to say about SiteChat  and the beta test via his public Facebook page:

Calling all friends to beta test SIteChat.com.

SiteChat lets you chat anywhere on any website, even if that site doesn’t have chat! Imagine being on a domain site and being able to chat with other users that are using the Sitechat. It would be the same as standing in a live room where you can actually talk to the other people or at a physical location no matter if it’s an auction site, retail store or or shopping mall. Thats as close to a real world experience as you can get. SiteChat is a chat box that appears in a separate browser window.

If you use our browser plugin just click on the plugin and a SiteChat box for that specific site will open. When you visit another website site just click the plugin icon again and magically your chat is populated with users using sitechat on the new site. Just go to SiteChat.com and download the plugin for best experience or use the web version. Check out FAQ from within the sitechat or message me. Please remember it is beta and looking for all thoughts, both good or bad. It may take a while to get used it but the domainers that i have showed it to have been blown away.

thanks larry

Larry told me about his new project a few months ago, and it sounds interesting. I was told there are quite a few features that are being tested.

I can think of a few domain industry applications for a service like SiteChat. I have not tried out SiteChat, but if you want to be a part of the beta test, get in touch with Larry.

  1. Thanks Elliot.

I thought of no better place to beta SiteChat than in the domain community. The Domain community is made up of great entrepreneurs whose opinions I value highly.

Everyone interested in trying SiteChat should go to SiteChat.com and download the chrome or firefox plugin. You can also use the web version at SiteChat.com by entering the url of the website in the box provided and hitting enter/return on your keyboard to open up a SiteChat box. Both versions give you similar features, but the plugin offers the optimal experience.

I look forward to thoughts or bug reports.

    larry

  2. This is the direction com is heading in. I’ve had the same idea but webcam based….Arrive at any domain and instantly see, hear and be seen by everyone else present. Suppose the domain wasn’t interested in hosting a video conference/chatroom, this technology allows chatters to meet/gather at the doorstep of any domain, to the point that establishments would seek to have it outlawed as loitering.

If the text engine has achieved the level of browser/domain/hardware integration I think it has, calling for the software to print all cameras is a next step within reach.
