The ICANN 67 meeting originally scheduled to be held in Cancun, Mexico will be held online instead due to the coronavirus outbreak. The meeting will be held entirely online using Zoom (disclosure, I own ZM stock), and the meeting will begin today. For those who have not attended an ICANN meeting before – or for those who want to understand how this unique set-up will work, ICANN will be hosting a kick-off session at 9am Cancun time (approximately 15 minutes from now):
If you are new to the #ICANN community, What to Expect at #ICANN67 for Newcomers starts at 9:00 Cancún time. Find out more about the virtual session here >> https://t.co/5UJZvrF0Ui pic.twitter.com/XBlC4xUIIO

The ICANN 67 meeting website has all the information virtual attendees need to participate in the event. The full schedule is available as well. For those people who have not attended an ICANN meeting in the past, this is a good opportunity to see what they are about and how ICANN conducts its business.
As a domain investor, the sessions that are of greatest interest to me include:
- ICANN67 Public Forum 1: Community Dialogue on the Proposed Transfer of Ownership of the Public Interest Registry
- GAC: WHOIS and Data Protection Policy
- GNSO – BC Meeting
- GAC: New gTLD Subsequent Rounds Discussion
- GNSO Council Meeting
- ICANN67 Public Forum 2
- Q&A with ICANN Org Executive Team
- ICANN Public Board Meeting
If you plan to drop in to the meetings or participate, keep in mind all scheduling is based on the time in Cancun, Mexico.
