Inspired by Roxane Gay’s tweet about helping people in economic need during the coronavirus pandemic, the Internet Commerce Association (ICA) has started a social media initiative to enable domain investors to assist people in need:
ICA is the domain industry’s trade association. We recognize many are finding it difficult to pay their bills now. If you’re really struggling, reply to our thread with #DomainAssist & way to receive payment. Following the example of @rgay, some of our members would like to help

The idea is that people who have been hurt economically by the pandemic can tweet using the #DomainAssist hashtag, and participating ICA members following the thread and hashtag can offer assistance.
While the idea behind this is for domain investors who are able to help financially can do so, recipients are not limited to domain investors. Those members of the domain investment community who want to participate by helping someone in need can keep an eye on the #DomainAssist hashtag on Twitter and respond to requests for assistance.
I am sure there are people in need, and hopefully domain industry participants who are following the hashtag will be able to do some good for others in need. It’s going to be a difficult time for many people, and it is nice to know there are domain investors who are helping others, whether it’s through this initiative or closer to home.
