Donuts Website Now Found at Donuts.Domains

When Donuts first launched, the company used a .CO domain name, Donuts.CO, for its website. The company recently changed its url to Donuts.Domains. I presume this news was announced at DomainFest Asia (and reported via tweet by Colin Campbell of the .Club Registry):

The new gTLD domain names

Bloomberg.Market Awarded to Bloomberg

In an unsurprising UDRP decision, the Bloomberg.Market domain name has been awarded to Bloomberg Finance. As you may recall, a website was set up on Bloomberg.Market to look like the actual Bloomberg website and an unfounded news report was published. The result was a giant temporary fluctuation in the price of Twitter stock.

The UDRP decision was published by the World Intellectual Property Organization, and it can be found on the UDRPSearch.com website. There was one panelist presiding over this UDRP decision, and not surprisingly, the respondent did not issue a response to the complaint.

You can read the entire UDRP decision for yourself if you would like, but here are a couple of interesting tidbits I found:

Vote: .Website or .Online?

Radix announced that its .Website new gTLD extension surpassed the 100,000 registration mark. According to the company, “.website has become one of the top nTLD domain choices of corporations across the world. Consistently in the top 10 fastest growing nTLDs, .website crossed 100k domains to be the 11th largest new gTLD.”

Last week, Radix announced that it expected that its .Online extension would see 15,000 registrations in the first day of general availability. The company even targeted the .Club registration mark of more than 25,000 domain names registered on the first day of general availability.

I think .Online and .Website are fairly similar and could appeal to the same types of buyers. I think “online” and “website” are also popular keywords in domain names that already exist. It will be interesting to see how the growth rate of these two extensions compares.

I am curious how

Earlier this afternoon, Ian Andrew from Dotcom Agency asked .XYZ Registry CEO Daniel Negari an interesting question about XYZ.com forwarding:

It looks like the answer to this question is

Radix Predicts 15,000+ .Online Registrations at Launch

Radix sent out a press release touting its .Online new gTLD domain extension. The company reported that there were 775 registrations during the Sunrise period. It’s email stated that this figure is strong, and it ranks as #6 behind .Porn, .Adult, .Sucks, .Brussels, and .Melbourne.

The email also made a pretty bold prediction. According to the accompanying press release I was sent, Sandeep Ramchandani, Business Head at Radix stated, “We expect to start off with at least 15,000 registrations at launch and would love to break .club’s launch record!

I can see .Online being a

Daniel Negari Talks .XYZ on Bloomberg

The good press for Daniel Negari and his .XYZ registry keeps coming. This afternoon, Daniel was interviewed on Bloomberg, and I have embedded the video interview below.

Regardless of what you think of Google’s decision to create Alphabet and use ABC.xyz for its domain name, I think we can all agree that this has been fantastic news for the .XYZ registry. I also think this news is good for the new gTLD program.
