45.com Reportedly Acquired for $1.8 Million

According to a post on X linking to a press release on CoinDesk, the 45.com domain name has been reportedly acquired for $1.8 million.

A subsequent post on X offered the company’s perspective on what it intends to do with the domain name. The 45.com website has already been launched. Based on the account’s posting history, this looks more like a launch than a rebrand.

I have not independently verified the veracity of the sale, but it does look like the domain name recently transferred from GoDaddy to Dynadot, where it is now registered under Whois privacy.

If NameBio is able to confirm the sale price, it would become the 4th largest publicly reported 2 number .com domain name sale. The largest publicly reported NN .com sale of all time, according to NameBio, is the 2011 sale of 55.com, a domain name that sold for $2,317,200. If confirmed, by DNJournal, this would be the 4th largest domain name sale of the year (to date).
