Sunday Updates and Thoughts

3

The next week or two might be a good time to revisit past negotiations and try to strike deals. Some people may be wanting to add revenue to their bottom line for 2014, and others may be looking to spend some free marketing dollars. Whatever the case, the last week and a half of the year are usually  more quiet as people celebrate the holidays, so now is the time to get some deals done.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your Sunday. Here are some updates and thoughts. You are welcome to share yours in the comment section:

Sunday Updates and Thoughts

The last few days have been hectic. We spent Thanksgiving in New York with my wife’s family and had a great time. We came home yesterday afternoon to get to a wedding in Boston last night. I think my liver needs a few days off, and I most definitely need to hit the gym ASAP.

Here are some updates and thoughts. I hope you enjoyed your holiday.

We live about 20 minutes from where the New England Patriots play (not including traffic), and this afternoon I heard a really loud airplane flying over our house. I looked up into the sky, and I saw two fighter jets. I soon realized they were going to do a flyover for the Patriots game. A short time later I saw the flyover video on Twitter and it was pretty cool to watch. Anyway, it’s been a nice weekend and I hope you are enjoying yours.

We’re about to do some cookie decorating, so here are some updates and thoughts about the business of domain investing:

NamesCon is a couple of months away, and I am getting ready to attend. I have my conference ticket, but I have not yet booked my hotel and flight. Last year, I waited until a bit later than I would normally wait, and I found that the airfare and hotel prices dropped a bit. I may end up staying across the street at the Vdara, but a word to the wise is to try and stay as close to the conference hotel (Tropicana) as possible.

I hope you have a nice Sunday. Mine is going to be relaxing until 8:30 tonight when the Patriots play. Here are some thoughts, tips, and updates for the weekend:

Been a bit of a rough weekend so far. Our daughter has been sick for a couple of days, and it’s been tough watching her not feel her best. It was nice being able to spend extra time with her on Friday, but I hope she gets better soon. She has scarlet fever (strep fever + a rash), and hopefully the antibiotics will help her get better quickly. To make matters a bit worse, our dog (a 7 year old puggle) chewed up an almost empty pack or Orbit gum, which apparently has a chemical (xylitol maybe?) that is bad for dogs. My wife took her to the emergency vet last night, and she seems to be no worse for wear today.

Hope your weekend has been better than mine and that your week gets off to a good start.

Weekend Thoughts, Updates, and Tips

The 10th anniversary of the TRAFFIC conference is now in the books, and I am glad that I attended. As usual, the networking was good, and I had some productive meetings. I also met some people I had not met before, and that is one of the most valuable aspects of the conference. I shared some additional thoughts about the conference below.

If you called me or emailed me at some point during the last two weeks, I will try to reply to you soon. My wife and I spent a few days in Florida prior to the conference, and that was followed by several nights in Punta Cana, which was then followed by the TRAFFIC conference. Although I’ve been working, I have a few emails and phone calls to return.
