Daily Poll: What Auction Platform Do You Use Most for Sales?

5

Every day, I look at domain name auction platforms to see what is coming up for auction. I actively bid on GoDaddy Auctions and NameJet, and I occasionally bid on Sedo, DropCatch.com, and a couple of others. I also sell domain names occasionally via auction. Millions of dollars worth of domain names are sold via auction platforms each year.

Today’s poll question is What Auction Platform Do You Use Most for sales? You are invited to vote in the poll below and are welcome to share additional thoughts in the comment section.

Daily Poll: Do You Subscribe to Domain Sale Newsletters?

2

There are quite a few domain name sales newsletters sent via subscription. Many of these are sent by domain brokers offering exclusive listings for sale, and others offer closeouts, house-owned domain names, or other types of wholesale deals on domain names.

Today’s poll question is Do You Subscribe to Domain Sale Newsletters? You are invited to vote in the poll below and are welcome to share additional thoughts in the comment section.

Daily Poll: Should NameJet Add Bitcoin as a Payment Option?

10

Someone rekindled an old thread from NamePros last year to ask if NameJet will be adding Bitcoin as a payment option. NameJet’s Scott Pruitt quickly responded to tell him that “Bitcoin payment will not be accepted on NameJet in the immediate future.”

Today’s daily poll asks whether you think NameJet should add Bitcoin as a payment option. It might also be helpful if you share some reasons why the company should add it or why it isn’t necessary.

Daily Poll: Better Investment – ccTLDs or New gTLDs?

5

In the DNJournal sales report and on NameBio, I see new gTLD domain name and ccTLD domain name sales. Although I do not have much experience with either, I keep my eyes on these markets to see what is selling and for how much. I also see what is reported to me or reported in press releases – like the $500,000 sale of Home.Loans.

I am curious which type of domain name readers believe would make a better investment. Although I stick to .com investments, I know there are people who have large portfolios of these types of domain names, and I am curious what readers think.

Today’s poll question: What is a Better Investment – ccTLDs or New gTLDs? You are invited to vote in the poll below and are welcome to share additional thoughts in the comment section.

Daily Poll: Do You Operate any Websites?

10

I have tried my hand at development. The majority of my smaller websites didn’t really earn much money. I have sold a couple of domain names that had relatively successful websites on them, and I still operate several websites, including this one. At the present time, I have no plans to take on any new web development projects, although I suppose that could change if the right opportunity came around.

Daily Poll: Do You Own Crypto Domain Names?

15

Cryptocurrency has been a hot topic (and investment) for the last couple of years. As a result, cryptocurrency related domain names have taken off in popularity and perhaps in value as well. It seems like every day, I see sales reports with cryptocurrency domain names at marketplaces like Sedo and auction venues like GoDaddy Auctions and NameJet. I don’t really own any crypto domain names (beyond a few hand registered names), but it seems like a lot of people are buying them.

Today’s poll question is do you own any crypto related domain names? You are welcome to share your thoughts below.
