I have a $20/month paid account at OpenAi. I primarily use it to access ChatGPT – and I always use Chat.com to navigate to the website. One of the ways I use the platform is to generate keyword lists that I use to search for and register domain names.
Oftentimes, these keyword lists revolve around a specific topic, and I will append the lists to a different keyword. For instance, and this is just a made up example based on a current “hot” trend, I might ask Chat.com to generate a list of 100 popular scientific keywords that an 8th grader would know and then append AI.com to the end. I always give an example, such as MeteorAI.com in this case, so the tool can understand exactly what I am seeking.
With each list of keyword domain names that is generated, I will copy and paste it into GoDaddy’s bulk search tool and filter out the domain names that are available to register. After looking at the remaining domain names that I can hand register, I will decide whether or not to register any of the available domain names or move on to something else.
In January, I did this and decided to hand register 9 domain names. I set them up on Afternic and priced them between $997 and $1,997.
A couple of weeks ago, I was on a ski trip at Stowe. Other than the first day when the resort closed due to high winds, the mountain had the best ski conditions we have experienced at Stowe in close to ten years. I finished a cruiser and was waiting off of the lift line while my wife and kids were finishing their run. I received an email from Afternic’s Transaction Assurance team informing me a domain name sold for $997. It was one of the 9 domain names I hand registered in January thanks to ChatGPT.
After the sales commission, my profit was approximately $800 for that domain name.
In the past, it has been fairly easy to find keyword lists and/or create them on my own. ChatGPT allows me to expand on these lists and get more abstract with relative ease and speed. Instead of having to take those lists and manipulate them in Excel to create domain names, ChatGPT does it all for me with a quick prompt and example.
Thank you, Elliot. Very good procedure to hand register domains and get fast results and profit.

Problem with this approach is that not everyone is very selective in what domain to register and what to not (from the available list, we all been there) and end up registering many. And if one or 2 sells like in your case, then we go crazy and before we know it, we have registered a lot (even 1000s) of names and most will just stay in our account collecting dust and we keep paying renewal fees 🙂
Sorry you have no luck or the talent to hang reg domains…

“I will copy and paste it into GoDaddy’s bulk search tool and filter out the domain names that are available to register”
GoDaddy’s search isn’t “live” so I’d suggest to use a different service to bulk check the domains to see if they are available. A recently dropped domain, will show registered at GoDaddy for an example and will provide inaccurate results.
Good call – thanks!
