Finished!

I finished my Pan-Mass Challenge ride today, and I want to thank the many people who supported my fundraising efforts for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. When all is said and done, you will have helped raise over $8,000 in funds that will go to a fantastic organization that is helping people fight cancer and doing vital research to find a cure. Of course, if you would like, you may still donate 🙂

I didn’t do as much training for the ride as last year, but I feel pretty good right now. I am a tiny bit sore, but that is to be expected. We had great weather today with sun in the high 80s. Last year was rainy, so this was a marked improvement.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Down to the Wire… Thank You!

My Pan-Mass Challenge ride to raise funds for Dana-Farber Cancer Institute is happening this coming Sunday! My wife and I will saddle up to ride the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) with 6,000 fellow cyclists to raise money for life-saving cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI).  We are riding together as Team Silver. You can find our team website by visiting  TeamSilver.Rocks.

The PMC raises more money for charity than any other single event in the country – $455 million since 1980 and $41 million last year alone. This year’s goal is $45 million! This amazing gift is possible because a lot of people ride and care about a cure, and we have some great sponsors.

I am committed to ride and hope to raise at least $7,200. Thanks to friends, family, and colleagues (plus personal contributions), there is

TeamSilver.Rocks: 2015 Pan-Mass Challenge

On August 2, Karen and I will be  riding in the 2015 Pan-Mass Challenge to raise funds for the  Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston  and its Jimmy Fund. Dana-Farber is one of the world’s leading cancer research and treatment facilities. Last year, colleagues, friends, and family  helped me raise $5,800 for Dana-Farber, and the entire Pan-Mass Challenge raised $41 million! I am proud to have been a part of that effort, and I am hoping we can raise more this year.

Last year was the first time I rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge. I am not the most athletic person, but the ride was made easier knowing how much support I had. This year, my wife Karen is riding with me. Together, we are Team Silver, and Rightside is sponsoring and supporting Team Silver. You can visit TeamSilver.Rocks to see our fundraising page. We will need help from our friends, family, and colleagues in order to hit our fundraising goals.

When I first signed up for this year’s ride in early February, I wrote about it on Twitter. Rightside’s Matt Overman reached out to me shortly thereafter, and he asked if

Poll: Who Will Win the Super Bowl?

I haven’t mentioned anything about the Super Bowl yet, and I want to see who readers think will win the Super Bowl (being played on Sunday). I live about 30 minutes from Foxboro (where the New England Patriots play), and I am a big Pats fan. I root for all of the Boston sports teams, but I only closely follow the Red Sox and Patriots.

I know there are readers from around the country and around the world, and I am curious about who you think is going to win tomorrow. Vote in the poll below… Seattle Seahawks or New England Patriots?

Lisa and Braden Set Up Benevolent Donor Page

Before a friend’s wedding, my wife and I always look to see if they have a wedding registry to buy a wedding gift. I was trying to think of a unique gift to give Lisa Bloom and Braden Pollock in honor of their upcoming marriage, and I saw that they have created a Benevolent Giving Page for their friends and family to congratulate them while helping others. I would not have expected anything different from them.

Here’s what their Benevolent giving page says:

Braden and Lisa are great supporters of Benevolent and huge believers in the strength of individuals and their potential to thrive. Whether it’s Lisa’s bold work on issues of social and racial justice or Braden’s philanthropic leadership, everyone in Braden and Lisa’s circle of friends, family and colleagues benefit from their leadership and insights.

Give in support of one of the people we’ve highlighted here on our page and consider making a gift in support of Benevolent’s work and growth as well. Ask us how.

This is how Benevolent works:

Thankful This Thanksgiving

We are celebrating Thanksgiving here in the US, and I am fortunate to be spending the holiday with my wife’s family. I have a lot to be thankful for this year.

I am very thankful to you for visiting my blog, and I am especially thankful to those of you who share your thoughts and advice in the comment section. Even when we disagree about something, I appreciate that you are willing to spend your time discussing various topics.

I am thankful for the people who have written articles on my blog this year. Others are able to share expert advice and insight that I couldn’t share, and I am thankful they are willing to write here.

I am very thankful for the companies that advertise on my blog. I could not spend the time researching and writing if it were not for the commitment of the companies who advertise. Additionally, I appreciate the insight and information that people share with me to keep the discussion topics interesting.

Finally, I am thankful that my family is understanding when it comes to writing this blog. News stories break at all hours, and my wife is always understanding when I need to work on something business related.

If you are celebrating Thanksgiving today, I hope you have a great day! If you aren’t celebrating, I hope you find some good domain name deals while the rest of us are celebrating 🙂
